RUINER Gets a 2017 Release Date

RUINER has a release date. It’s just shy of a month out, at September 26th, and came with a trailer that highlighted new combat features. The most exciting were the new katana weapon and the shield dash ability. We get new looks and short introductions to characters. The trailer shows off the game’s scenery, and its isometric level design. And, best of all, the Ugly Heart trailer shows off the one thing that it’s doing best: its aesthetic.

For context, RUINER is one of my most anticipated titles of 2017. From playing it at PAX this past year and really enjoying it to following its sparse development updates, I’ve been anticipating its release date for months. The cyberpunk genre is on the rise, no doubt because of the anticipation for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. RUINER promises fast, action-packet combat and a decent story, it seems.

In addition, the Ugly Heart trailer showcases some of the game’s music, composed by Khoven, DJ Alina, and Susumu Hirasawa. If you know me, you know I’m going to be looking for a vinyl release at some point… which would be fantastic.
