The Return Update

Late in June, the collective Lifecast decided to take a break in order to readjust. It’s time for our return update. (The original post is here, if you need a refresher.) We’ve readjusted in a major way.

The initial point of this venture, way back in 2016, was to get into video games journalism. It was something all original members were interested in, and something we were all pretty passionate about. Over time, as all things, our interests evolved. We thought it would be best to diversify our content, so we started playing around with tabletop podcasts, different genres of talk shows, and eventually, videos.

The reception to some things was great, and the reception to others wasn’t. We were all pretty sure that wherever things were going, it wasn’t what we wanted overall. We did want diversity in what we did, but at the time we weren’t equipped to do that.

Making matters worse, we collectively had a lot of personal issues to trudge through. While that’s still a work in progress, the break allowed us to do so without it affecting our work. It also gave us the time and perspective we needed to come back with newfound determination. Some of us decided that while this was something we wanted to work on, it wouldn’t be sustainable given our circumstances.

Overall, we decided it was time to rebrand ourselves. Instead of focusing on one show, or just podcasts, we’re going to be diversifying further. The site you’re on now is going to be a hub (a network, you see) for all sorts of videos, podcasts, and whatever else we can host. And not just about video games, either.

Expect more stuff on our Youtube channel, more impromptu Twitch streams, and, of course, more podcasts.  This time around our focus is more on making stuff that you’ll love as much as we do.
